Refrigerant R22

Refrigerant R22 is a universal single-component HCFC Non-Toxic, Nonflammable Refrigerant with low Ozone depletion potential, widely used in Air-conditioning and Refrigeration applications. Maxron R22 Refrigerant used in Residential Air conditions, Split Units, Package Air conditioners, Chillers, Commercial Air conditioning and all type of Comfort cooling systems. Also used in Transport Refrigeration, Commercial and Industrial Refrigeration and other Refrigeration applications

R22 is a single component HCFC refrigerant that has historically been used for air conditioning, medium-temperature and low-temperature refrigeration. R22 will still be available until 2030. Most air conditioning units older than 10 years utilize an AC refrigerant called R22 that’s commonly identified as Freon*, and is noted by the EPA as HCFC-22.
R22 is suitable for a wide range of refrigeration and air conditioning applications across a wide range of temperatures.

The End of R22:

R22 Freon or HCFC-22 Freon, is an environmental danger because it contributes to the depletion of the ozone layer. R22 refrigerant will be eliminated from use in cooling systems by the year 2030. At this point, R22 will no longer be manufactured and cannot be used as a refrigerant in new air conditioning systems. R22 is being replaced by R-410A, a safer material that is the current, compliant standard refrigerant in air conditioning equipment.
